Room Tour

Today I'm doing a little room tour of my bedroom. I'm going to show the main areas in my room through pictures. I could easily ramble on about each area but I don't think it's really necessary so the pictures can speak for themselves!!

Winter Must Haves

So we're half way through November and it's beginning to feel really wintery now. I actually have to wrap up warm when I leave the house!! I've got together some of my personal essentials for the winter months...

Fashion:

My first fashion staple for when it gets cold is any sort of scarf/snood. Other than being practical for keeping warm, they can really add to an outfit. At the moment I'm loving my Primark dark burgundy snood that I wore in my OOTN | Bonfire Night. In the picture it actually looks dark brown but I can assure you it is burgundy! I also have this same snood in grey and I do love it just as much! They're super snuggly and because it's Primark...super cheap!!

A good pair of boots is always needed this time of year and I got these from Next last year. They're so comfortable and can last me a whole day without hurting my feet. They've got the fur detail, leather straps and gold buckle details. They're quite chunky but you can easily fit some fluffy socks in them, which is often needed in England!

I love my newish parka coat that I got in my Back To School Haul. It keeps me warm and dry which has been tested on my walk to and from school! The hood is my favourite bit as it tucks me away from the wind and is far too cosy. Me and my friends have also discovered it can make a good blanket when the common room is really cold!

Beauty:

Okay so we all get the dreaded dry skin in the winter so The Body Shop Body Butter is perfect to tackle this. My favourite at the moment is the Ginger Sparkle, which is actually from their Christmas collection last year. I'm just finishing it up and then I'm planning to take a look at the new Christmas collection! When you first apply this I think it actually has quite a citrusy scent, but what I love is as you rub it into your skin you are hit with the warm smell of ginger- divine!!

You know about my issues with dry hands and I mentioned The Body Shop Coconut Hand Cream in my September Favourites. Like I said in my favourites this is the perfect size to fit into my pencil case and handbag so I carry it with me 24/7. It's essential if you're out in the cold and you've forgotten your gloves.

Alongside dry skin and dry hands, I also suffer from dry lips in the winter. The Nivea Soft Rose lip balm is my life saver because it's so creamy and moisturising. Now I do like the Maybelline Baby Lips however I don't find them as moisturising as this lip balm. So this lip balm accompanies my hand cream in my pencil case :)

And of course the winter trend that returns every year without fail... vampy lips! I love this trend because I think it looks so sophisticated. My favourite lipstick for a vampy lip is the ever so popular Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107. It applies beautifully, is a stunning blue toned dark red and lasts wonderfully. I can't fault it.

Others:

Now after being out in the cold all day it's necessary to come home and pop on a onesie. This giraffe one is from Next and it is unbelievably soft! It is my favourite thing to wear at any time of the day and it's little hood is really cute!

Once I'm snuggled up in my onesie I can't resist lighting some candles. This one I got from Marks and Spencer, I was mainly attracted to the beautiful pot. It's worn, rose gold and I will definitely find a use for it after I've finished burning the candle- maybe a makeup brush holder? It smells really warm and Christmassy as it has a frankincense and myrrh scent, perfect for the winter time.

And last but by no means least, you can't have a cold winters day without enjoying a hot chocolate! This mug was a present from my friend as she knows how obsessed with Costa I am :) For a treat I like to have the Whittard Caramel Hot Chocolate and of course it has to be topped with whipped cream and marshmallows!!

So that's all of my winter must haves and after writing this I feel way too excited for Christmas. I can't wait!!!

OOTN | Bonfire Night

Last night I went to watch my local firework display with a group of my friends. It was great fun despite the rain and mud!!

We go every year and normally it's freezing, but this year was the first time it actually rained. Because I assumed I'd get cold I wore a long sleeve stripped top. This was from Zara Basics a couple of years ago and I get a lot of wear out of it. You can't see in the photo but its round neck, and has little gold button detail on the shoulders, which I really like. On top of this I wore my burgundy hoodie from Topshop and my chunky, dark burgundy snood from Primark to keep me extra warm!

I wore my light wash, skinny Primark jeans. These were perfect! It was so muddy at the fireworks so they did get splattered with mud, and we went on some fairground rides so my bum got soaked,  but because they were only £11 form Primark I really didn't mind if they went through the wars a bit! I completed my outfit with my black Dare2b ski coat to ensure I stayed warm and dry (sort of did the trick!). And I wore my purple Hunter willies with pink Hunter welly socks- which I consider essentials!!

October Favourites

I can't believe it's already November and Christmas is quickly creeping up on us!! But the end of October means it's time for my October Favourites...

Makeup:

This month makeup wise I've still been loving using bronzer but I've been turning to my Body Shop pressed powder in 06 instead of my beloved Hoola. I've just been doing this as I've found using this shade is much more subtle and it blends into my skin tone really nicely. I can use this as my day to day powder during the summer but normally at this time of year it doesn't get much use. Recently I haven't been able to go without it!

Now things have definitely felt colder and more wintery in October so the dark lips have begun to return. I've been relying on MAC's Plumful to ease me into the berry and vampy lip trend. It's so easy to wear as it does last well but it fades gradually so you aren't left with a line around your lips! Also because it's very pinky it isn't too harsh and isn't a super obvious dark lip.

For me October has been a month of parties and I've loved it! More often than not I'll opt for a smokey eye when heading to a party and the L'Oreal Color Riche Mono Eye Shadow in Quartz Fume has been my go to product. I simply pat this all over my lid, blend into the crease and out. Easy. It creates the perfect eye for a night out. The eye shadow blends out beautifully and is really pigmented. You do get a little bit of fall down but nothing a touch of concealer can't sort out!

Body:

So I've been really enjoying Lush products in general throughout October. They recently released their Christmas and Halloween products and like pretty much everyone, these are my favourites! My mummy treated me to a few bits and this little Christmas Hedgehog Bubble Bar is all I have left in my stash :( To be honest I'll probably end up getting another one of these because I can't bear to crumble him into my bath! I recommend popping into lush to look at their goodies if you get the chance. They make any bath feel special and personally I wouldn't mind finding a cheeky bath bomb in my Christmas stocking...

As well as bath time treats I've been loving a little luxury in my showers recently. The Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude Shower Crème is beautiful! It's a really rich and moisturising shower crème which is always needed at this time of year. It has a musky scent with a hint of rose that I think feels really cosy! This is  expensive for what is essentially a shower gel so chances are I won't repurchase it, but I'll certainly enjoy it while it's still in my shower.

Others:

I was lucky enough to be given a Pandora bracelet for my 16th birthday and after I got my GCSE results my mum said I could have two more charms as a little gift. We finally got round to picking out the charms I wanted this month! I chose the silver stack of study books, I thought that was quite suitable and they're sooo cute! As well as this I chose the stunning pink pave heart charm. I like that this breaks up the silver of the other charms and it sparkles so beautifully. I've been wearing the bracelet pretty much everyday and I love it even more with my new charms...thank you mummy!!

Like I've already said, October has been jam-packed with parties and these shoes have been my saviour! I picked them up from New Look and they are probably the comfiest shoes I've got! Seeing as I'm 5ft I'm always in need of a good heel, and the great platform on these mean I can dance all night without my feet hating me! They are looking a little grubby now and do need a little bit of a clean but I guess that shows they've been well loved!

So that's all of my favourites from October! I've actually really enjoyed October in general. I feel like I've properly settled into my new school and A Levels, I've had some really good nights with my friends and I returned to Bournemouth again! I know I've missed two weeks of blog posts but I feel like I should be back into the swing of things now and I have quite a few posts planned out. HINT- things are getting festive soon ;)
